Growing up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Katie has been involved in music from the time she could talk. Displaying talent at an early age led her to begin studying piano at the age of five. Soon after, Katie began writing music of her own. She then studied advanced piano and composition at Minnesota State University: Mankato with David Viscoli, Karen Boubel, and David Dickau.
With themes of nostalgia and deep reflection, Katie Wrede's original compositions each tell a unique story of the human experience and memories of her past. Her music is described as cinematic and heartfelt. Lori Line, Yanni, and Steven Marq have been inspirational favorites throughout her life.
In 2020, Katie released her first single "Growing Up". Her first album "A New Beginning" was released on December 5, 2020.
